Challenge

Barbican, a new entrant in the Lloyd’s insurance market, needed to build a new business from the ground up in a turnkey environment and pass regulatory scrutiny in order to be given approval to operate independently.

Solution

DUTCH-ENGELS built the risk and compliance functions from scratch, putting in place people, policies, processes, and procedures whilst meeting regulatory requirements under the then new Solvency II regime. The result, a successful transition to independent entity and a green rating by the regulators.
