Challenge

Our client challenged us to build a brand that is as much about it’s location as it is the wool products they make. The brand is part of its context and would not exist if it was not for its location. The business is of its surroundings, crafting products from local, sustainable yet unloved and overlooked resources.

Solution

Our team, completing consumer journey research, social listening and a deep-dive into the sustainable functional garment market crafted a completely new offer. The brand is built to upset the status-quo, long maintained by brands who focus only talking “a good game“ rather than being authentic local and lasting. WELAN at its core is ethical, local and lasting, while remaining competitive in an extremely crowded category. In addition, the brand is entirely consumer driven. The decision to launch to such a specific audience direct-to-consumer was a bold but relevant move when niche and digital are converging.
